CSO Credit Services and Fee Schedule - Secured Loans

  • Credit Services:: CSO's credit services include: (a) arranging for consumers loans secured by liens on unencumbered motor vehicle titles, with terms not to exceed 180 days and an Amount Financed from $100.00 to $10,000, and with an annual interest rate not to exceed 9.95% (each a “Loan”); (b) helping consumers complete the paperwork (including the credit application) needed to get a Loan from Lender; and (c) providing to Lender in respect of each Loan from Lender a letter of credit, guaranty, or other credit enhancement satisfactory to Lender that backs the consumer's repayment of the Loan (with any such letter of credit, guaranty, or other credit enhancement being referred to as the “Letter of Credit”)
  • Lien Filing Fee: Either $28 or $33 (depending on the county in which the lien is filed), payable to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. The Amount Financed includes the lien filing fee, which applies to both the Lender's lien and the CSO's lien. The lien filing fee may differ depending on the state where the lien is filed.
  • Charges After Default; Costs of Collection: If CSO pays Lender because of a default, CSO can collect from Consumer all expenses, including collection and legal fees, and charge interest on the principal paid by CSO to Lender, as explained in Consumer Reimbursement Obligation below.
  • Consumer Reimbursement Obligation: Consumer is responsible for repaying CSO for any amount that CSO pays to Lender under the Letter of Credit. The unpaid principal amount will accrue interest at 9.95% per year (within legal limits).
  • CSO Fee - 30 Day Credit Products: The CSO Fee is a fraction of the Amount Financed. The CSO Fee fraction will depend on the Consumer's creditworthiness and their previous relationship with CSO. Consumers with higher creditworthiness and a positive history with CSO may be eligible for CSO Fee fractions at the lower end of the fraction range.
